i love to visit pet shops because i love to see cute little puppies.
I have a 7 year old yorkie who has major allergies we have him on holistic food and treats and just recently started giving him salmon oil to help moisten his skin. They seem to be making him itch even more. Is this common for dogs with allergies to itch like crazy at first? Or should i take him off the capsules immediately?
Whenever you give fish oils to dogs, you must also add vitmain E. Most quality fish oil that is specifically formulated for dogs inlcudes the vitmain E in the capsules. However, if you are feeding the actual wild salmon canned or baked salmon fillets with egg shell added to balance the calcium to phosphorus ration at 1/2 teaspoon per pound of fish/meat, then you don’t need the vitmain E. The salmon has the natural nutrients to prevent oxidation. I use LifeSpan Salmon Oil
