As the cooler weather approaches dog become more prone to hot spots so be sure to be on the look out for more scratching. Zinc pca is a really great medication for hot spots on dogs!

remember that it is a good idea to bath your dog weekly in the fall if your pet is going outside more as the weather turns a bit cooler!

And do not forget to use a oatmeal dog shampoo!

To answer your question, phenobarbital is a very common drug for epilepsy. Side effects typically end after a weeks time. SeizureGuard works very well with pheno-barbital.

will probably want to go with a oil based lotion. Better for your skin if you apply lotion several times daily. You should see a difference in 2 wks!! Good luck!

Yeh, ive also heard some great things about shampoo with zinc pca. I understand it is very expensive so you wont see it in mass produced pet shampoos

dogs do indeed get pimples and acne just like we do. There are various treatment options to clear up the skin but be sure to use something made just for pets or else you may cause skin damage

My dog suffers from allergies and is constantly scratching. He also gets yeast infections under his back legs which really bother him. He gets elephant like skin. Its awful. I saw the hydraplex shampoo after I googled for a dog shampoo.

Great question Jamie. You mentioned that your pet just began to get dandruff. This is the interesting part because something must have triggered it. You are spot on looking for nervousness, anxiety, or even dog depression as these cause temporary contact dandruff, but it goes away.

I suspect that a skin irritation that needs to be cleared up will correct the problem. Begin using RenuPlex, the medicated zinc dog shampoo. Use it twice and you should see the dandruff just about gone. After the 3rd application it should be all gone. The RenuPlex conditioners will also repair and damage and bring his coat back to shinny life! Thanks and good luck!
