Rabies is the most noxious and scary disease that can affect your pet dog. It will not only leave your dog ailing but can actually cause a pandemic. If your pet dog gets rabies then living with it will be the most difficult task. Even if a stray dog gets rabies it will be very difficult for you to stay there. Thus it is better to protect your dogs from this disease. Rabies is basically a disease that directly hampers the central nervous system of the body. This disease can only affect animals which are warm blooded. Rabies can be dispatched to human beings if an affected dog bites him. Thus to protect the dogs from this zootomic disease it is advised to get them its vaccination.

When a dog gets affected by rabies the virus affects the nervous system but enters the saliva in his mouth. This is how it transfers to others through a bite. For pets the only way they can get this virus is through a rabid animal. When you doubt that your dog has acquired rabies then it is advised to get it incubated for all the tests. You should notice your dog’s habit and consult a dog whenever you find any change in his normal behavior. This will help you to get you dog cured on time. Although there is a very less percentage of a dog who survives this disease but you should get your dog the best possible treatments.

It is quite important for a dog owner to know how a dog gets this awful killer disease. If a rabid bat bites your dog then it will immediately get rabies or if it gets hit by a rabid mammal then also chances of getting rabies in your dog are very high. If your dog has rabies and he bites somebody then you may get sued by law. Because getting your dog a rabies vaccination is very important. If you own a dog it’s your responsibility to get it vaccine against all the possible threats especially from rabies.

You can try the following tips to protect your dog from rabies:

  1. If you have bought a new born puppy then get it vaccinated against rabies within a week. After ninety days you have to get your dog vaccinated again.
  2. If you have not got your dog vaccinated from quite a long time then it is better you consult the vet immediately for protecting it against any sort of threat
  3. It is advised to keep your dog indoors. Do not allow it to roam here and there on streets alone. You take it out for a brisk walk everyday and make sure that no other animal bites it and vice versa. This is important because a bite from an infected dog can leave your dog ailing with rabies.
  4. If you notice that your dog is falling ill, keeps itself secluded and feels paralyzed sometimes then immediately get a rabies test done. Do not put this task for any more days and get it done as soon as possible.
