CANINE FLU:

Dog flu is also named as canine influenza. The virus that causes equine influenza is very similar to the one that causes canine flu. When it caused an epidemic its cure was not discovered because the virus was unknown before that, but now the diagnosis of this dog flu has been ratified by The U.S department of agriculture’s animal and Plant health inspection Service. When this flu was outraged for the first time no tests for detecting it were discovered, but a few years back in university of California a test was discovered which completely detected this flu. Omega 3 for dogs is a good supplement to give your dog daily to help keep him or her healthy!

The technology used in detection of this flu was polymerase chain reaction. This test is carried out if a dog shows any symptom of this flu. The first symptom of this flu can be of prolonged coughing. If your dog has cough for over 10-20 days then you should get it checked for a canine flu. Consistent fever and nasal discharge are some other symptoms of this canine flu. For this you need to observe you dog regularly and check if it is behaving in a different manner. If the flu is detected and cured within time then you can save your dog from death.

If you are observing some symptoms of canine flu in your dog then contact your veterinarian immediately. You should not waste time in this case. It is better to get cured on time to prevent any wanted death.  If your dog is suffering from canine flu then you do not have to worry of catching this flu because it cannot be transmitted to humans. If you doubt this flu to be bird flu then you have surely mistaken because bird flu is entirely different from dog flu. Remember the Omega 3 for dogs.

He will also inform you regarding other precautions in this aspect. At your level you should try keeping your dog at a suitable distance from other dogs which are coughing or sneezing. Thus taking all the possible precautionary measures will help you keep your dog protected from a canine flu.
