Dog Rashes Causes

What Causes Dog Rashes? When your dog has long fur, you have to keep its skin healthy. Bad looking skin shows that your pet has some health problems. Your pet's skin and fur can get discolored when attacked by a rash. In most cases, malnutrition is the major cause of rashes ot a yeast infection. It can also be caused by other serious diseases like cancer. A dog rash can be something that you can treat at home.

 

It does not have to be something complicated. You can use home remedies but you have to understand the cause of the rash.

 

Here are some of the major causes of dog rash: 1. Parasites: When your pet is attacked by parasites like fleas, it is likely to develop rashes. Some dogs are allergic to parasites and a single bite from fleas or mites can cause a rash on the pet's skin. Your pet's skin becomes red and itchy which makes it very uncomfortable. Mites hide under the pet's skin and you cannot see them with the naked eyes. The parasites produce poison which causes sores on the pet's skin. If you do not treat your pet, it may start losing fur. It is always wise to seek treatment whenever you notice a rash caused by parasites on your dog's skin. 2. Allergy: Other causes of dog rash include allergic reactions from food and other environmental pollutants. Some pets get dog rashes when they play on a lawn which has been treated with pesticides. Others react to air fresheners used in the house and also some do the same the detergents used to clean their sleeping place. If your pet is allergic to certain foods, you need to carry out an elimination diet to help you identify the food affecting your pet. Try to use natural cleaning detergents and see if your pet will get better. 3. Dermatitis: This refers to all common skin infections. They usually easy to treat and they only cause itching on the skin. The rash can go away on its own. It is just like a human reaction to minor environmental irritants which include pollen and mold. This rash can be treated at home. 4. Fungal infection or yeast infection: There are various fungal infections like ringworms which can cause rashes on your pet's skin. The ringworms are caused by fungal spores. It looks like a circular red rash which is pale in the middle. The spores are always in your pet's body. When you keep your pet healthy, the spores remain dormant. However, if you fail to feed your pet properly and you deprive it of some of the essential nutrients, the fungal spores affect it. 5. Hot spots: This is another cause of a dog rash on your pet's skin. This infection is common in hairy dogs. It occurs when your pets are kept in poorly ventilated spaces. Hot spots can develop very painful sores on your pet's skin. You need to know the causes of dog rash and treat it before it advances. This is like in the case of hot spots which leave marks on your pet's skin.
