Cure Dog Allergies

The connection between dog allergies and poor quality coats & skin of dogs

Our dogs are active, playful and adventurous animals.  By nature of their animal background they are prone to so many diseases.   One of the most common problems we see in our dogs are coat and skin issues.  Skin diseases occur due to bacteria infection whcih can often be cured with a quality dog shampoo . Some of the bacteria like staphylococci and parasites are common causes for dog allergies. This is an infectious disease caused by a bacteria name called.  The major symptoms include itching and liver / kidney failure.

A sick dog has to be taken care with lots of care.Treatment for bacterial skin disease normally requires supplements, specialized shampoos, and sometimes prescription drugs.  If antibiotics are used remember to complete the entire cycle that the veterinarian has prescribed – ending the treatment too soon can have negative effects on the dogs immune system.    If response to antibiotic therapy is negative, then bacterial culture and antibiotic sensitivity tests should be considered. Medicated dog shampoo is also an option to consider.

Allergy and dogs are closely associated.   Dogs often spend much time outdoors, and even if they only go outside to “do their business” they roam around in grass, flower beds, etc.  This makes them more prone to allergy infection.   Flea saliva is a most common allergy found in dogs.  This allergy intensifies itching all over the body.  Warmer seasons and climates further encourage this growth of bacteria in flea saliva.  In cold seasons and climates this salvia has a hard time living so allergies as a result are not as common.   Skin allergy often occurs with itching. The affected area may either look normal or dark red with dog hot spots. The dog tends to scratch its skin. The allergy affects the region near the tail. Pollen and dust type allergies affect the face. Hairless areas like abdomen are affected by contact allergies. Respiratory effects like running nose; cough sneezing etc can also be caused by allergies. If a dog is intensely itching, then the cause could be allergy.

Remember that dog skin infections due to allergy are very common and e symptoms of allergy include more than just itching.  Also look for rashes, nasal discharge, eye discharges, limb chewing, belly itching, ear infections,  and dull or unhealthy looking coats.

It becomes highly indispensable to protect the dogs from all the diseases. Besides regular flea and tick treatment and a dog shampoo which is medicated, make sure your dog is receiving fatty acids as they provide many benefits to the dog’s coat, circulation system, bone structure, and overall health.  A quality Dog Omega-3 daily supplement will provide these fatty acids.   As dogs are susceptible to various diseases, vaccinating them becomes highly essential.  It helps in fighting against various infections.  The American Veterinary Association has certain guidelines on vaccination for dogs.   These guidelines will be know and explains by your veterinarian.   Be sure to visit the vet at least once a year.   Proper dosages must be given to dogs in periodic regular intervals. Vaccinations acts as a guard against all diseases.  It fights against all infections and protects the dog from diseases.

Over dosages of vaccines should also be avoided so take your pets records with you when switching animal doctors.   Remember vaccines do have some minor side effects, don’t be alarmed if you see a small rash around the application area.   If you feel worried play it safe and call the vet!   It’s always better to be safe.
